A lot of work has gone into the newest Traipse build and it has definitely paid off. The number of users have grown as well as the overall enjoyment of those users. With the new stability and features of Traipse a market has opened up that once had not existed.
I am sure the next few steps I will be taking in the development of Traipse will cause a stir among the general public, but it is an action that I feel should be embraced rather than shunned. I will be, and have already started, releasing Non-GPL products for the Traipse software.
These products will include:
- Templates for RPGXplorer (released) and PCGen (under development) that allow users to turn their Character Sheets into Traipse compatible nodes.
- Packs of pre-generated Character Sheets released under the CC-Nc-Nd license. If you want to sell your node creations, buy one of the lesser expensive templates.
- Adventure Module Packs
I am also working on re-organizing my news outlet blog, this one that you are reading now. I have started merging The Shelf of Scrolls with this blog so that I can make room for a Traipse Meta Server.
That is what is planned for 2010 releases for Traipse material.
I will also be revisiting the Open Source RPG. The main focus for 2010 will be on the Open Source RPG CCG. I have released the 4th of 5 card templates and I would like to release the 5th template this year. The rule books will be revisited this year and I am aiming for a Beta release of the rules by the end of the year or early next year.
Knowledge Arcana Issue 0 is expected to be released near the Spring of this year. I dislike that some artwork remains in limbo, but I don’t know what to do about that right now. The first issue of the re-release of Knowledge Arcana will coincide with two Adventure Modules.
